Highland Village, TX is just north of Flower Mound and south of Lake Dallas, Corinth and Copper Canyon. Located a few miles west of I35 just south of Lake Lewisville and north of 407 this is a great area to live in. The homes range from higher end $4 million dollar properties on the lake with a lake view to just around $200,000. Highland Shores is, of course, the most famous planned community in the area - with several parks, trails, tennis court facilities, pools and playground. But it comes with a hefty HOA dues. Briarhill is tucked away off 407 and before you hit new wal-mart (travelling west on 407). This community is not HOA! It does not have the pool and other amenities but it has all conviniences of the area. It is so close to 2499, yet most of the area is not affected by construction of new extension. There are a variety of homes there - most brick front two car garage ranging from 2000 - to 4000 sq. ft. I personally love one story homes here. Actually, the one story homes are not staying on the market long enough to really notice them when you pass by. Several on Tartan were sold within a week or so.
