Highland Village, TX has seen a growth due to the extension of 2499 and new shopping and dining locations opened in the last 3-4 years. The real estate market has always been strong in Highland Village. Schools are great and people are moving north from Dallas or relocating from other states and find Highland Village proximity to DFW and both I35E and I35W convinient for commuting to work or airport. However, even here the data shows some effect of the economy downturn.
It takes 14% less days to sell a home in Highland Vilalge, TX (82 days in Ocober 09 vs 95 in October 08) now with Median Sold Price being up 27% from a year ago. With fewer homes for sale the total number of homes sold since last October is down 20%. 18 properties went new on the market in October 2009. Currently, the Inventory is at 8 months vs 6 months a year ago but about 15 month if February of 2009.
